About Us

School of Business under Faculty of Management at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has established itself as one of India's leading center of excellence in management education and research. In a short span of existence, the school has been contributing to the growth of management and administration field through its research, training and development programs as well as hosting of seminars, conferences and workshops. The Faculty of Management imparts education and training in varied fields of management under the School of Business and Department of Economics, that run the courses of Master of Business Administration (MBA) and M. Sc. Economics (Five Years Integrated Dual Degree), respectively. In previous years School of Business has organized different programs and workshops that have benefitted various organizations and its employees. Out of various training programs, projects and consultancies, many of them are related to organization’s competence, capacity and development as well as motivation. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is a fully residential and technical University, under section 12 B of UGC, established under an Act of Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature 1999. The University is sprawled over a campus area of 474 acres in the scenic surrounding adjoining the Trikuta foothills, in the vicinity of Katra and about 38 Kms from Jammu city. The University follows the IIT academic pattern.

What is Our Goal?

INCSC 2017 is a platform for integrating scholars, practitioners and researchers for sharing their ideas of researches based upon the qualitative methodology as well as case based approach/ case studies. The Conference is organised annually and is third in the series. It would help in providing a venue for sharing the knowledge and best of the practices as well as approach to solve complex issues over variety of business and developmental issues.

Submitted cases should be original, written in English and easy to comprehend.
1. Case Studies/ research papers can be based on primary research in the form of interviews, real business problems and situations. Case studies based upon secondary data with proper references shall also be accepted subject to the approval of technical committee.
2. All submissions should be typed in Microsoft Word format (.doc /docx file). All manuscripts must be submitted online. Use Times New Roman 11 font size with single spacing for body text of the case and teaching note as well as case based research papers/ qualitative studies. The manuscripts should be typed in double space on one side of A4-size paper in MS-Word Format; with margins of 1.5" on the left side and 1"on the other three sides.
3. Submitted cases studies (other than case based research papers/ qualitative studies) should accompany a detailed teaching note.
4. An abstract of your case studies/ research papers/ qualitative studies, in no more than 300 words should be submitted by 24th September, 2017. The selected abstracts shall be invited for the submission of full case study/research paper along with teaching notes for the conference within a period of ten working days.
5. The full length case studies/ research papers/ qualitative studies, should be submitted by 4th November, 2017.
6. The case studies/ research papers/ qualitative studies should include the following:
  • First page should include the Case/ research paper's Title, Author(s), details with contact numbers and email ID.
  • Second page must have Executive Summary/ Case Abstract within 500 words including Case/ research paper's Objective, Main issues, Functional areas and Keywords (5-7).
  • The submission should be made for double blind review. The authors must not mention their name and affiliations, anywhere in the body of the Case study/ research papers or teaching note.
  • The length of the full Case/ research papers should be 10-20 (maximum) pages. This limit includes the abstract, body of the text, notes and exhibits.
  • The case may include the following headings: Case Abstract-Including where the case is used Case Introduction-Brief History, Main Issues, Main Body-Past and current business performance, conicts, decision alternatives etc. A closing section, an addendum of exhibits providing supplementary information such as tables figures, graphs etc.
  • All Citations and sources of information must be as per APA (sixth edition) format.
In case of submission of a case study two documents should be submitted- the case and the teaching note. THE TEACHING NOTE SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
  • Length of the teaching note should be 5-10 pages (maximum)
  • Case synopsis
  • Learning objectives
  • Assignment questions
  • Teaching plan
  • Analysis (suggested/possible answers to assignment questions)
  • Bibliography/suggested readings (APA sixth edition)
  • Teaching note Exhibits (e.g. Financial analysis, summary of theory application)
